Lauren DeMato Obituary: Ashely DeMato is in grief following the sudden passing of her mother, Lauren C. DeMato (D’Ambrosio), on February 4, 2025. Ashley took to Instagram to post a very emotional tribute in which she was visibly very heartbroken but at the same time consoled by the thought that her mother would now watch over her and her unborn daughter.

Baby girl Cooney was taking too long to come Earth side and you just couldn’t wait to hold ‘your baby,'” Ashley wrote. “As unfair as this is down here for us, it brings me peace knowing you are holding and kissing our little girl waiting to send her down to us!” She went on to say, “I don’t think I will ever understand why you had to go but I will find strength and peace knowing you are our forever Guardian Angel. I know that I will be seeing you in our little girl for the rest of our lives. Until we meet again.”

Lauren C. DeMato was a lifelong resident of East Boston, lovingly cared for by family and friends. She was the beloved wife of Robert “Bob” DeMato and devoted mother to Michael DeMato, Ashley DeMato-Cooney, and Jade DeMato. Lauren will also be lovingly missed by her beautiful granddaughter, Brielle Lauren Cooney. Her passing has left an immense gap in the lives of those who loved her most.

Lauren was a consummate professional and spent 37 years as a station manager with Alamo Car Rental. Her favorite pastimes included gardening, baking, and shopping. Her presence brought warmth, and her love for family was unconditional. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial visitation for Lauren will be held on Monday, February 17, at Magrath Funeral Home in East Boston from 9 AM until noon, with a funeral mass at St. Joseph-St. Lazarus Church at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to a charity of your choice in Lauren’s memory.

The DeMato family is receiving an outpouring of love and support from friends and followers in their time of need as they navigate their grief in preparation for the upcoming birth of Ashley’s baby girl.
